PICTURES: HOW SENATOR TINUBU SAT ON DEPUTY SENATE LEADER'S SEAT

At the Red Chambers of the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, November 18; Senator Oluremi Tinubu, representing Lagos Central and the wife to the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, raised dust in the Senate when she gracefully sat on the seat meant for deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.

It took the reproof of the senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party for Tinubu to relocate back to her chair to second a motion for the approval of Lagos state development policy operation loan.
Trouble started when Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central, sought to second a motion on the approval of the $200m Lagos state development policy operation loan from World Bank. She, at this point, stood in the corner used by the Deputy Senate President.

Just as she was about to speak, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senators present at Wednesday’s plenary rained her with much criticisms that she bowed to their pressure and left for her seat in order to second the motion.
The APC leader’s wife, however, returned back to Ekweremadu’s position, who was absent from plenary immediately after she seconded the motion.
It was learnt that she sat in the chair meant for Senate president, Bukola Saraki’s deputy to hold conversation with the leader of the Senate, Aliyu Ndume.
According to reports, Some senators later told reporters that she insisted the seat belonged to her.
At the same time, several other senators told reporters that it was a joke and they were all giggly during this exercise.
