ABUJA GIVES HEROES WELCOME TO U-17 WORLD FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS


It was a rousing heroes welcome that was given to Nigeria's under 17 football team who came tops at the just concluded Fifa under 17 world cup event at Chile on Sunday November 8, 2015.


The Golden Eaglets won the hearts of Nigerians by beating their Mali counterparts 2-nil at the world cup finals to clinch the gold medal.

The Golden Eaglets had earlier arrived in Lagos from Chile on Wednesday November 11, 2015 were they were received with a rousing ovation, amidst cheers and excitement.


The Golden Eaglets, thereafter proceeded to Abuja were they were once again received at the Abuja International Airport, by the crowd of excited Nigerians who Cheered them on with so much gladness, excitement and with rousing heroes welcome.


The representatives of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) were present at the Abuja International Airport to welcome the Golden Eaglets.

Thereafter, the Golden Eaglets proceeded on a Processional Bus ride round the major streets in Abuja amidst cheers of Nigerians as planned by the NFF. 

The Champions then proceeded to transcorp Hilton hotels were they were scheduled to be hosted by the newly appointed Sport Minister Mr. Solomon Dalong at a dinner.
