HOW ALIKO DANGOTE WAS FEARED TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN HOSTAGE IN A MALIAN HOTEL

It was a great scare when the news made the rounds in the earlier hours of Friday November 20, 2015, that Nigeria's top business man and Africa's richest man according to Forbes Magazine, Aliko Dangote was amongst the 170 persons reported to be currently taken as hostage in a Malian Hotel in Bamako.

However, the news was displaced after several hours, as a call was placed through to Alhaji Aliko Dangote who confirmed that he wasn't at the hotel in Mali, but in Nigeria.

In Bamako as reported, 2 gunmen who have been confirmed to be Islamic Jihadists were said to have gone on a shooting rampage, killing about 3 persons and taking about 170 persons comprising of the staff and guests of an hotel in Bamako Mali under hostage for several agonizing hours.

However, through the concerted efforts of the Malian Police, the French and other UN security forces in Bamako, the hostages was later rescued.
