In a recent report by the Vanguard, Governor Fayose of Ekiti state of Nigeria, have reportedly issued a press briefing from his office upon; his refusal to attend the meeting organised by the Federal Government of Nigeria for all Governors of States,on the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy by State Governments in Nigeria.
According to the reports of the Press briefing, the Governor claims that the TSA policy is a fraud on Nigerians as, the Federal Government is using REMITA an intermediary company to transfer funds from Federal Government account to State Government accounts and REMITA will take a percentage from any amount of funds transferred.
He questions the use of REMITA for the transfer of funds by the Federal Government and accuses the company of being used by the APC Government to raise funds for the party activities and in the coming gubernatorial elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states of Nigeria.
Governor Fayose was reported to have declared from the statement issued that Ekiti state will not be part of the implementation of the TSA policy.
